Sevda, a Londoner and British designer, seamlessly blends elegance, class, and timeless fashion-forward creativity with her "Designed in London" approach. Her products are truly "Made in Italy," crafted using only the highest quality materials and traditional handcrafted techniques. Sevda's leather handbags feature bespoke hardware made with solid brass and a touch of gold.
Originally from Bursa, Turkey, a city renowned for its rich history in textile craftsmanship, Sevda developed a deep appreciation for the county's cultural heritage and handcraft. Encouraged by her mother to pursue her dreams of becoming a designer, Sevda honed her fashion skills at the Mimar Sinan Faculty of Fine Arts, specializing in Textile and Fashion Design in Istanbul.
After working as a designer for several leather brands in Istanbul, Sevda moved to London in 2005 to further refine her craft. She completed various courses at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, where she began shaping her philosophy and developing concrete plans for her business.
Driven by her quest for the perfect day-to-evening handbag, Sevda founded her eponymous label, SEVDA LONDON, in 2013. Since then, her products have garnered recognition in esteemed publications such as Vogue, Elle, L'Officiel, Harper's Bazaar, and more.
In addition to her handbag line, Sevda launched a collection of silk and cashmere blend scarves, meticulously crafted in Como, Italy. Inspired by the captivating beauty of English garden flowers, these scarves feature bold patterns. The Tulip Garden silk twill scarf from Sevda's collection was recommended by Anna Murphy, The Times' fashion director, who praised its appeal to British tulip lovers, stating that it is "definitely money not at all delusionally spent."
Sustainability holds great significance to Sevda. Ethical values have been ingrained at the core of Sevda and her team since the inception of her brand. She is committed to working with safer materials, ensuring safe working conditions. Moreover, she upholds the rights of the individuals she collaborates with.
3D technology
CONSCIOUS DESIGN
We utilise 3D technology during the design and prototyping phase as a powerful tool to prevent waste in the production process. By employing advanced 3D modelling techniques, we can visualise our ideas with precision and accuracy, reducing the need for physical prototypes that often result in material waste.
